From Theory to Practice: Building a Confident, AI-Enabled Workflow for Your Firm
A practical working lunch and masterclass for legal practice leaders.
Permission to Not Know
You do not need to arrive with a finished AI strategy, a perfect prompt, or the answer to every risk question.
Bring the operational problem that is taking too much of your time or attention. This is a small, guided room for law firm leaders to learn honestly, build carefully, and leave clearer about the next right step.
Not Another Networking Event
This is a purposefully small and thoughtfully facilitated room for candid conversation, useful peer perspective, and the relief of discovering you are not the only one working this out.
Courts and professional bodies are making the risks of GenAI impossible to ignore. The Federal Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit Court and Family Court of Australia have issued AI-specific practice instruments. In Aotearoa New Zealand, the Courts and the New Zealand Law Society have published guidance emphasising lawyers' existing duties of competence, confidentiality, supervision, accuracy and professional judgement when using this technology.
You will leave with a working, stress-tested workflow created from the ground up by you.
For example, a workflow for first-draft communications, supervising junior lawyers using GenAI, matter intake preparation, internal file summaries, or another internal pressure point.
In this session, you will:
- Identify a recurring operational challenge or workflow that creates friction, consumes senior time, or depends too heavily on your personal intervention.
- Break down that workflow into its essential steps, decisions, inputs, handovers, and points of supervision.
- Redesign the workflow to harness AI while protecting the non-negotiables: human discernment, professional supervision, and legal reasoning.
- Build the redesigned workflow directly, supported by structured exercises and peer discussion.
- Stress-test the workflow against confidentiality, quality control, ethical exposure, and regulatory standards.
- Leave with enough clarity and confidence to know exactly what to do next, rather than feeling you must become a technologist before taking action.
Presented by Chantal McNaught, this is an engaging and structured working session designed to help you turn uncertainty into defensible practice, with professional ethics at the forefront.
Who this is for
Firm owners, directors, founding principals, and managing partners who:
- Want to modernise thoughtfully without compromising professional standards.
- Feel uncertain about how AI should safely fit into their firm and team culture.
- Want to reduce operational drag and the exhausting reliance on their personal intervention.
- Care deeply about client trust, team capability, and the long-term reputation of their firm.
- Want an implemented, practical workflow rather than another high-level seminar.
Who this is not for
This is not for lawyers seeking a magic button, shortcut prompts, or a pure cost-cutting replacement for legal judgement. The focus is on building the leadership discernment required for trusted, defensible legal practice, not extractive shortcuts.

Please bring your laptop with your preferred AI platform already open. If you have not selected a preferred platform yet, bring your laptop anyway. All work is conducted on hypothetical operational scenarios. You do not need to bring client files or firm-confidential information.
